The Sound You Just Heard Was Coakley’s Campaign Crashing

In a statement eerily reminiscent of Jeff Spicoli’s “My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.”, Ms. Martha Coakley single handedly destroyed her campaign for the Massachusetts’s U.S. Senate seat vacated by the death of Ted Kennedy.
On WCVB channel 5’s “On the Record” October 23, 2009 program, Ms. Coakley responded to a question about her experience on foreign policy with “I have a sister who lives overseas, and she’s been in England and now lives in the Middle East”. Later in the interview she also trumpeted her other foreign policy experience when she said “I grew up in the time of the Vietnam War.”
Well all I have to say is, bravo! It’s safe to say with experience like this Ms. Coakley is a shoe in for the next Nobel Peace Prize, which is going to be good since with statements like this she won’t be winning the U.S. Senate seat anytime soon.
