Stop Me if You Heard This Before! – Candidate Late on Property Tax
0 Comments Published October 26th, 2009 in Stop Me If You Heard This BeforeThe Republican – Zaida Luna, a candidate for City Council in Ward 1, said this week she was unaware that her house was in tax title due to underpaid taxes in fiscal 2008, and paid the full amount owed Wednesday to resolve her debt.
Luna paid the city $848.47, which included her delinquent taxes, interest and penalties, after being questioned by The Republican. She lives at 7 Demond Ave.
“I thought it was paid, but it was accumulating,” Luna said. “It was a misunderstanding. I had no idea I owed this money. I took care of it right away.”
Rest of Story on the Republican
OK….Ms. Luna is definitely underachieving with her political campaign. How does someone with her credentials and $848.47 in delinquent taxes not have a job in the Obama administration? I mean she has everything going for her….claim of ignorance of tax delinquency; check!…. claims to be honest, tax delinquency non-withstanding;check!…thinks that her candidacy should not be affected by her transgressions;check! It’s a little disappointing there was no claim that she is the victim of a right wing conspiracy.
